Dunbar's number & other delights

The Dunbar's number is a theoretical cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships.
Scientists believe that its = 150.

Facebook has really changed the way we have communicated, and what is most amazing is the kind of trigger it creates when you do not check the notifications. You feel something missing.

Facebook has been able to satisfy one most important thing, "Curiosity",
but this curiosity is not about the other, its about self.
Everyone is curious to know what the other feels about him/her,what other has to say about the thought in your mind, unlike before, when every curiosity was directed towards the knowledge of the other.
If one analyze a bit, Facebook by contrast is a typical opposite to Google.
Google gives you an opportunity to know the world, while facebook is giving you an opportunity to see in a mirror your own reflection.
Two different products positioned differently, satisfying an inner need of mankind.

Dunbar number is a by product of social websites, so here is my claim,

"Even if you have 500+ friends in any social website, you will not be in continuous touch with more than 150".

That's strange, because the real adrenaline rush for many facebook users come from checking the number of friends in their list, than the number of conversation they have.

Is there an opportunity for a widget of Dunbar Number,
or Is there an opportunity to know self via social medium.........

The Story lies in your Mind.........

As u rightly described Dunbar's number... It was nice... Still i believe the number can differ according to some factors like his relation, typeing speed etc.

@ Bhoomi: Thanks for writing a Comment, it was very necessary for me.
@ Jishnu: Yes I do agree, sharing thoughts makes one richer, I look forward to your feedforward and also some new thoughts from your side.
@ Akki: yes surely it depends on multiple factors, but if you see, 150 I believe is a large enough number considering the way human race have grown.
