Rajneeti Behind Politics
The Thought:
Much awaited Rajneeti was out yesterday for the public to review and give their Judgement.
Sometimes it seems funny, when everyday we are told not to judge people or things, but when it comes to movie, we become Judges, the ultimate gods, who decide whether we are entertained much or not.
Rajneeti, is a well positioned movie, with almost all powerful actors,( Sir Naseruudin Shah, Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn-yes the title shows his name as Devgn rather than well known Devgan-Manoj Vajpayee,) along with Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Arjun Rampal.)
The movie is a Long one- 3 hrs 7 minutes is a big time.
The movie is set around the Modern Mahabharata with Arjun's role played by Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn as Karan.
It sends too many messages, unlike the other movies of Prakash Jha which gave one clear message
like Ganga Jal ( Selective Honesty triupmhs even in most corrupted domains), or Apharan( One looses more than he gains).
Why you will Like it?
1. Because the story is different, and actors are powerful.
2. It comes at the refreshing time after KITES Debacle.
3. It will leave you spell bound by the kind of things people does and how we all are part of it knowingly.
What will this Movie do?
1. Rajneeti will do good to two person, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The story is written for Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal Steals shows because of his gravity and here you are with the first fine actor who hails from Modeling industry.
2. Ajay Devgn has lost the battle, he looks old beyond belief old and getting fatter.
3. Manoj Vajpayee who plays Duryodhan, is good in bits and pieces. He acts a dumb at times, which is not easily digestable.
4. The Role of Kunti, the mother is pathetic and she cannot do any justice to the Role. I wonder, which ministers daughter,or contact she actually has, that made prakash Jha take her.
She is not even worth a screen presence in this movie.
5. The Katrina is dead in the movie, she acts as relief during the much drama, her role matching that of Priyanka Gandhi more than Sonia Gandhi.
6. Ranbir Kapoor is fine, with the ending Line as " I do not want to bring the Monster alive again", and hence moves to US away from the Rajneeeti. The message is very un acceptable
" Is it that one has to be a Monster to survive well in Indian Democratic Political system?"
or
"Is it better to live in some Foreign country peacefully"?
Last few words,
" Prakash Jha's attempt is amazing, but Rajneeti could have been a milestone in Indian cinema.
He could not utilize the USP's of the actors,
talent of Nana Patekar ( not even a single scene of him getting arrogant- his USP),
Sir Naseerudin Shah ( Very small role and No room for Delievery)
Ajay Devgun ( Not even a single Fight sequence for him, no running exceot Kabbadi)
So watch the Movie, only till One Pop corn Bucket is over,
you wont have the mood to buy the next one.................
